Food insecurity forum focuses on current and future needs in Hawaiʻi

Will White, Executive Director with Hawaiʻi Appleseed Center for Law & Economic Justice told Island News, “There are proposals being floated that would work to implement stricter work requirements and stricter eligibility requirements for SNAP participants. There are proposals being floated to shift some of the cost for provision of SNAP benefits over to the states and that's going to be a huge drain on the state budget, so we're really concerned about whether or not the state is going to be able to step up.”
