YMCA of Honolulu extends Grab-and-Go Free Meal Distribution through April 3 for children in need

Since March 23, the YMCA has been distributing free healthy meals to children in need, Monday through Friday, 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, at 5 sites, during the Hawaii public school’s extended spring break in partnership with Kapiolani Community College, the Hawaii Appleseed Center and other community groups, businesses and funders.
The healthy lunches prepared according to USDA standards, will continue to be distributed to children in need 11:30 am – 12:30 pm, Monday through Friday, through April 3
The YMCA distribution sites are in addition to the Hawaii public school sites announced by the Department of Education that are providing breakfast and lunch.
The free meals will be prepared, individually packaged and distributed under the sanitation and safe hygiene guidelines of the CDC. Adults picking up meals must be accompanied by their children. The five pick-up and go; or drive through distribution sites will be stationed outside of the following facilities are:

“It’s important to us to ensure that no one in our community goes hungry during these uncertain times,” added Tabangay. “While we are working with community partners, we are still in need of monetary donations, as we hope we can extend our meal distribution through the entire month of April.”
