Hawaiʻi nonprofit seeks a statewide effort to fight hunger

A Honolulu nonprofit is hoping to put together a coalition to fight hunger in Hawaiʻi.

The Hawaiʻi Appleseed Center for Law & Economic Justice is looking to hire someone to coordinate statewide efforts to feed the needy.

Nicole Woo, an advocate at the Appleseed Center, says that there are several groups working to feed the hungry in Hawaiʻi separately, including Hawaiʻi Meals on Wheels and Hawaiʻi Foodbank.

“It would be very helpful to try to bring organizations and people who are concerned about hunger, bring them together, so that they can coordinate and work better together,” she said.
